I started cycling back in 1963 when my brother left India for the UK. I found his Sun Manxman cycle lying in the garage and decided that I would give it a go. I popped down to the local cycle track in Bangalore and had a few spins around the banked track. I soon caught the eye of the coach of the Mysore State Cycling Team and was encouraged to take it up seriously.
I look part in a few local events and soon found myself winning races. I was asked to join the Mysore State Team taking part in the National Games. More details below.
Once I came to the UK in 1968 I stopped riding till 2013 after being inspired by the Olympic Games in London during 2012.
I am now a regular cyclist and enjoy the sport immensely.
